IMPORTANT STUFF
Dos and Donts: Do check the weather report before setting out. Do take water purification tablets. Yes NZ has clear rivers but you cant drink from them due to farm and animals in the area. Dont use a school backpack. They are not made the same as a hiking backpack. Do take warm clothes, the weather can change very quickly. Do take a first aid kit. Do take sunscreen and hats. Do take food for two extra days. Keep your food secure. The local animals will want it too. Make sure that you have a campsite booking. Dont just turn up and start walking. You may be turned away.

Backback that fits you, sleeping bag with linner, torch, knive, fork. spoon, cleaning steel wool, washing up liquid, sun screen, mozzy spray or roll on, water purification tablets, a lighter or dry matches, heavy plastic bags (4). Can opener, pot x2, warm clothing, first aid kit. Warm water proof clothes. Phone or personal location beacon. pillow & spare batteries. Tell some that you trust not with you when you will be out.
OUR CAMPING KITS INCLUDE TWO WATER PURIFICATION TABLETS. One tablet is supplied per kit per day.
